Aug. 16th, 2004 10:41 pmWooOOO! I have a house now, and a lot of very promising 'mights.' The other person with the cat 'might' not be moving in, as he hasn't paid his deposit or even contacted them yet. The guy currently in my room 'might' be moving out as early as this week! The Awesome Aussies I'll be living with 'might' be able to get a U-Haul and help me move my stuff across town, so I wouldn't have to hire movers (Though I'd still need to muster the energy to lug this stuff around).
Apparently I made my parents' brains hurt a bit, since I told them I was deciding between moving in with Australians or jazz musicians. For some reason they still fear I might be susceptible to bad influences. *halo*
So while it's unlikely that anybody I know has also left their decision-making to the last moment (though in my defense, I had to, because otherwise I had no guarantee I was going to *have* a job to pay rent with), there 'might' be a room available in this extremely nice, very very inexpensive house. There will be a hypoallergenic cat, but that's the only thing I can think of that could possibly be objectionable. The people are cool, the location is pleasant (I've been getting off at farther bus stops just so I can walk, because it is that nice), and it's right by a major bus route that runs about as regularly as the red line.
Really, if there is a catch, I haven't yet found it. I think I have truly been blessed, and I am constantly grateful.
I even caught myself singing today. Haven't done that in a long time. I wonder if there's significance in the fact that the two songs were "Get Back" by the Beatles and "One step" from Aladdin.
And I found that if I make a fist when the kitty starts to bite, she can't get enough of it into her mouth to be able to really chomp down and hurt. Go me!
