I should stop saying "like", "you know", "and stuff", "totally", and perhaps "cool" quite so much. I'm sure such interjections contribute rather strongly towards my image of ditziness. I began using them humorously, and, well, they appear to have stuck. Alas.

You know, it's, like, not really ditzy, to, like, you know, talk like this and stuff when you're merely being silly.

But I'm a bit confused, because I've not gotten the impression that you're ditzy.

On the other hand, maybe the failure mode is failing to communicate that you're being silly. We've certainly had issues with me failing to realize that you were being silly in other areas, and maybe other people fail to realize that you're being silly when, like, you know, you start talking like this and stuff.

I do in fact tend to fail to communicate to people clearly when I'm being silly, as I am silly a lot, and assume they realize this. I should perhaps work on conveying to people when I am being serious, as it tends to happen more rarely. (Though the seriousness-to-silliness ratio has gone up noticeably recently.)

What bothers me, though, is that I am developing a tendency to use the referenced interjections even when I am trying to be serious. Which, to me, is not good. I am not a valley girl, dammit.
